- 01:18 Figure I'm about 95% there, now. Sleep now, then in five hours or so I should be better equipped for the home stretch. Should be. #
- 06:35 Back to it, then. T minus two hours. #
- 08:24 Waitin' for the man. #
- 10:17 incredibly, everything is packed and on its way. cue a sigh of relief to shake the pier. #
- 12:58 ... And I'm a Londoner again. #
- 15:25 Needhams Removals of Brighton are basically my favourite people in the world right now... a brilliant job done. #
- 23:30 Still packing. Removal people are here at 8.30. I'll probably still be up in three hours' time. Either still packing, or just worrying. #
- 00:06 The light at the end of the tunnel is as small as can be, but at least I can see it. BUT WHERE DID I GET ALL THIS STUFF FROM? #
- 23:54 I have no idea where this came from, but OMG. tinyurl.com/5ujhmx #
- 22:41 What a night for Be internet to completely break, eh? Can't even get BBC news up... #
- 22:42 @richjohnston Are you on Be? As I've just tweeted (twet?), I am and most things are broke for me. Same is true for someone else on NOTBBC... #
- 17:40 @celentari And you believed he was going to sit in sixth for 60 laps? Please. #
- 17:47 @celentari Wouldn't like to call. Seb Vettel is looking v. strong again, though. I think current top 3 but not sure about the order! #
- 18:52 Wow. Just... wow. #
- 20:31 It's a bit farcical that F1 doesn't have a presentation ceremony if the champ isn't on the podium. Well done Lewis, though, brilliant stuff. #

See, now that's news.
(I jest, of course. But still - bit of a shock. I really thought he was doing Moffat's first year. Obviously this has been planned all along, but it's a real shame to lose the closest there's been to "one of us" getting the role. I'm sure his replacement (I'm hoping Paterson Joseph) will be a fine actor, but will it be the same?)
(Actually, one thing that I can think of as a legitimate reason for him not to stick around for too long as that the very nature of the character demands that different people can come in and out - but the popularity of the show and ubiquity of its merchandise and imagery means that DT was in genuine danger, as Tom Baker probably was in the '70s to an extent, of becoming the "only" Doctor in the eyes of the general public, and the kids growing up watching it. For that reason, maybe it's best that he gets out before it becomes too difficult to imagine anyone replacing him.)

Western civilization is on the brink of financial collapse, a woman who believes that man and dinosaurs co-existed a few thousand years ago has a shot at one day becoming the most powerful person on Earth, Hull City are almost top of the league. So please, for the sake of all that is good and pure and sane...
....STOP TURNING THIS INTO NEWS THIS IS NOT NEWS LEAVE IT ALONE HOW CAN TEN THOUSAND PEOPLE NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND NINETY-NINE OF WHOM PROBABLY WEREN'T LISTENING TO THE SHOW COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMETHING JUST BECAUSE THEY READ ABOUT IT IN ENTIRELY OUT-OF-CONTEXT FASHION IN THE DAILY MAIL TWO WEEKS AFTER IT HAPPENED?!?!?!?!?!?
There, I feel a bit better. I'm not a huge fan of either person (nor do I hate either of them as much as some), and I didn't think what they did was particularly funny, but CHRIST ON A BIKE this is getting ludicrous.

I probably should have thought up this poll hours ago, since the thing is on in an hour and a bit - but if anyone's online, you can vote.
Anyway : I hate gore. I can't stand it. I don't like scary things, I don't like depressing things, I don't like watching people being ripped apart and having their innards eaten. For this reason, while I'm intrigued by the survival aspects of the zombie genre (and indeed frequently work out survival/defence scenarios for wherever I live for the inevitable zombie apocalypse), I can't stand watching them myself. Shaun of the Dead is the closest I'll get, and I can't even watch the Dylan Moran bit.
But tonight at 10pm... Dead Set starts. Dead Set, if you didn't know, is a zombie horror TV series (possibly with satire and comedy elements, but apparently not much) set in the Big Brother house. It's written by Charlie Brooker. Nathan Barley aside, Charlie Brooker is one of the best people ever. By all accounts, Dead Set is absolutely brilliant. As someone who is so interested (and who works) in the television industry, not to mention one with a worship of CB that stretches back to his PC Zone days, I really should be watching this. But I'm also a complete and total wuss, and early word is that Dead Set is one of the most brutally gory things that's ever been allowed on mainstream British TV (er, not counting films, obviously).
So...

- 15:52 Are we allowed to say "this is our year" yet, then? #
- 18:54 New Los Campesinos! album may only be the second best one they've put out in 2008, but the title track is clearly the song of the year. #

Can't believe it's been five years since I sat on the internet in the Greyfriars library and found out he'd died. I know it shouldn't, but the fact that he's no longer around still kind of upsets me.
